DEVELOPMENT ORIENTATION
OF THE VIETNAM MUSEUM OF ETHNOLOGY
Phase 2016-2020 and Vision towards 2030
PHASE 2016-2020:
- Continuing the improvement of three permanent exhibit areas: Việt Nam's Ethnic Peoples, Traditional Architectural Garden, and Southeast Asian Culture and cultures of some ethnic groups in the world; Annually organizing temporary exhibitions to present to the public cultural values of different ethnic peoples;
- Nurturing educational activities and creating experiences associated with the exhibitions; Organizing programs, events, and performances to introduce to visitors intangible cultures of ethnic groups in Việt Nam and in the world;
- Developing and gradually implementing projects of doing research and collecting of ethnographic objects in Việt Nam and in Southeast Asia; Investing in the Museum's storage with modern equipments according to international standards;
- Improving management apparatus and continuing to train the staff to better the Museum's quality; Developing the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology to become a prestigious centre of training and applying Anthropology - Museology in Việt Nam and the region.
VISION TOWARDS 2030:
Reorganizing the exhibition Việt Nam's Ethnic Peoples in a new exhibit space.
